Maintaining your dental hygiene is an ongoing process, and it requires consistency and care. Here’s a general timeline of what a typical dental hygiene routine should look like.
Flossing contributes to good dental hygiene because it lifts and removes plaque and food in between your teeth. Brushing also does these things, but the bristles of a toothbrush can’t reach where floss can. Flossing also reduces the risk of gingivitis, gum disease, and tooth decay.
The day after Thanksgiving also happens to be National Flossing Day, so our team is here to share with you a few of the many benefits of flossing daily.
If there is a dental hygiene practice that is commonly overlooked, forgotten, or simply ignored...it is flossing. It is easy to believe that good brushing covers all of the bases, and that as long as you are brushing at least twice a day your teeth will be in tip top shape. Unfortunately, that is just not true.
You’ve heard it a thousand times. You need to floss. But let’s be honest, flossing isn’t the most fun activity. And if you don’t regularly floss, it can be pretty uncomfortable.
