We love our service members and are proud to announce that we can continue to serve them even with the recent changes with The Tricare Dental Program (TDP).
The Tricare Dental Program offered worldwide by the Department of Defense (DOD) is the comprehensive dental plan that is available to family members of active duty service members, National Guard, Reserve, and their families. The Active Duty Dental Program (ADDP) for eligible active duty service members will remain with United Concordia. As most of our patients are aware, the TDP has changed insurance carriers from United Concordia to MetLife. The change of insurance carriers became effective May 1, 2012.
We are proud to let our patients know that we will still be able to serve their families dental needs through this program. So, any active duty family members, National Guard, Reserve, and their family members waiting to have treatment started or completed, now is the time to utilize your benefits provided by MetLife. Please be aware that some families may not have received new cards or information regarding the new dental policy, and if you would like to obtain that information you may access it through their website at www.MetDental.com.
If you have already visited our office or have an upcoming appointment please do not worry about not having an identification number. This will be the same as it was with United Concordia, which is the active duty sponsor’s social security number found on your uniformed services identification card. It will be important to present this card because the plans are divided into two groups based off the sponsor’s pay grade: E1-E4 and E5+.
